We are so proud of our multicultural and diverse culture and community at Broadwater. We draw upon and celebrate this throughout our Religious Education (RE) curriculum.
At Broadwater we believe RE has a significant role for the development of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. It promotes respect and open-mindedness towards others of different faiths and beliefs and encourages pupils to develop their sense of identity and belonging through self-awareness and reflection.
RE provides a positive context within which the diversity of cultures, beliefs and values can be celebrated and explored. RE also contributes to pupils’ personal development and well-being and to community cohesion by promoting mutual respect and tolerance in a diverse society.
Our RE lessons ensure a progressive experience of the subject, with scope for cross-curricular learning. We want to make sure that children understand the relevance of RE in today’s modern world and how it affects our lives.
